Goal Achieving… as Easy as 1-2-3

I really believe that writing down goals is a powerful thing, and writing them down publicly only makes them more powerful. Here are my goals for the next few months:

1)       Get rid of the clutter. I have accumulated a bunch of unnecessary “stuff” of the past few years (while I was in school) and I want to downsize! (If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them I am pretty lost when it comes to this stuff! )

2)       Achieve some health and fitness goals (do p90x and the Beachbody Ultimate Reset AGAIN).

3)       Get back on track with Personal Development.

Writing down big goals like this is an important first step in visualizing the finish line, but in order to get there you need to break it down into bite size chunks. I like to commit to doing three tasks everyday that push me closer to my goal. This small change completely altered the way I saw certain tasks in my life. For example, there were certain busybody tasks I hated doing for school, I didn’t understand why I had to do them so I had a bad attitude every time and often delayed them until the last minute. Then, I changed my mindset to: this is one of three tasks I have to do today to achieve my goal of graduating on time. I was more productive AND I had a better attitude while doing these tasks, because I was achieving my goals everyday!

So, here is an example:

I really struggle with organization, I have stated many times it is my biggest fault. Here are my three tasks for the day to help me get more organized:

A: Spend thirty minutes cleaning

B: Spend time looking up advice on how to be more organized (if you don’t know how to do something go to the experts!)

C: Put ten more things in my donation box.

See, three totally achievable (“bite-sized”) goals that are going to push me closer to achieving my goal.

To make this work you have to do it everyday. Recently I have been slacking on it, but it still works! I have been procrastinating an errand for about a month now, but when I made it my “goal” for the day I did it and I walked there so I also got some exercise. Win-win. Here is a photo from my beautiful walk (nothing clears my head like a walk through nature!):

I'M BAAACCCKKK!!

I could give you a bunch of excuses why I haven’t posted but:

Basically, life happens. I had some other important things come up in my life and I made achieving those goals my top priority so other things, such as blogging, got pushed to the side.

To answer a few questions I have often been getting:

Yes, I have been working out, but not at the frequency or intensity that I would like.

And YES! I have still been drinking my Shakeology. I did stop for a while, but then they reformatted the flavor of the Chocolate and Greenberry and now I look forward to drinking it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Seriously, I keep thinking I’ll get sick of it, but I don’t.

Why am I blogging again? Blogging really helps me to stay motivated to achieve my own fitness goals and now is a VERY exciting time to be a part of Team Beachbody as Vanilla Shakeology and T25 were just released. Here are some notes about why I am excited about these products:

When I first started Beachbody and learned about Shakeology one of my first questions was: why isn’t there a Vanilla Shakeology?! Vanilla tastes great on its own, but it is so versatile that you can add just about anything to it and still tastes amazing… Turns out OF COURSE Beachbody tried to make a vanilla flavor but when they used the “all natural” sources of vanilla they found traces of chemicals. A certain amount of these chemicals is okay by FDA standards but not by Beachbody standards. So, they spent years searching for a source of vanilla that would meet their standards and they have finally found it. My order can’t get here soon enough!

T25:

First of all, this is the newest program by Shaun T so that in itself is exciting. When I first heard about it I was like “Okay, cool, a version of Insanity that requires less of a time commitment”. Then, I heard Shaun T speak about the product and it all made sense to me. Yes, this program will get you results with just 25 minutes but the difference is that you need to FOCUS for the entire workout. I just really loved how he explained this, because yes I completed p90x before but the workouts were so long that I did start to slack. Whereas with T25 Every. Pushup. Counts. This is the kind of mentality I need to work on while working out. I plan to get this workout once I prove to myself that I am back on track. For more information about the T25 challenge pack click here or send me a message on Facebook here.
I am really excited to get blogging again! I am so much more motivated when I am blogging.
