Goal Achieving… as Easy as 1-2-3

I really believe that writing down goals is a powerful thing, and writing them down publicly only makes them more powerful. Here are my goals for the next few months:

1)       Get rid of the clutter. I have accumulated a bunch of unnecessary “stuff” of the past few years (while I was in school) and I want to downsize! (If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them I am pretty lost when it comes to this stuff! )

2)       Achieve some health and fitness goals (do p90x and the Beachbody Ultimate Reset AGAIN).

3)       Get back on track with Personal Development.

Writing down big goals like this is an important first step in visualizing the finish line, but in order to get there you need to break it down into bite size chunks. I like to commit to doing three tasks everyday that push me closer to my goal. This small change completely altered the way I saw certain tasks in my life. For example, there were certain busybody tasks I hated doing for school, I didn’t understand why I had to do them so I had a bad attitude every time and often delayed them until the last minute. Then, I changed my mindset to: this is one of three tasks I have to do today to achieve my goal of graduating on time. I was more productive AND I had a better attitude while doing these tasks, because I was achieving my goals everyday!

So, here is an example:

I really struggle with organization, I have stated many times it is my biggest fault. Here are my three tasks for the day to help me get more organized:

A: Spend thirty minutes cleaning

B: Spend time looking up advice on how to be more organized (if you don’t know how to do something go to the experts!)

C: Put ten more things in my donation box.

See, three totally achievable (“bite-sized”) goals that are going to push me closer to achieving my goal.

To make this work you have to do it everyday. Recently I have been slacking on it, but it still works! I have been procrastinating an errand for about a month now, but when I made it my “goal” for the day I did it and I walked there so I also got some exercise. Win-win. Here is a photo from my beautiful walk (nothing clears my head like a walk through nature!):

My Ultimate Reset Journey!

If you want more information about the Ultimate Reset click here to access my previous post about it!  Or click here to access my official Beachbody Ultimate Reset page!

Why I decided to do the Ultimate Reset:

When I first heard about the Ultimate Reset and that it removes the toxins from your body I thought “oh, okay that’s nice”. A couple of days later I thought about it and realized if anyone has a bunch of toxin in their body its me. In the summer of 2010 I did three months of chemotherapy. Just the thought of still having any amount of chemotherapy stored in my fat cells made my skin crawl. At that point I was committed to doing it. Just thinking about the Reset made me realize that my nutrition was really off track. I ate so many processed foods and sweets that I wanted to know how I would feel without all of that nasty garbage in my body. Plus I really like to challenge myself.

My journey so far:

I have learned about my eating habits. The first day didn’t seem that bad until after dinner. Then, I wanted dessert so bad I wanted to cry. I had never realized until that point how dependent I was on my sweets after dinner! I have also learned that I am strong enough to resist temptation!

I have lost weight. In eight days since I started this program I have lost 5.3 pounds! Granted three pounds of that was what I like to call “temporary weight”. (The week before I started this program I was really stressed out about finals and so I ate terrible, just terrible). But still, two pounds is pretty awesome! Also, I swear I am losing cellulite!
These are my results after eight days of not working out! The Ultimate Reset has been good to me!

I don’t want to get too excited but I think my acne is starting to clear up. The day before I started this program I spoke with someone who used to suffer from acne, and they told me all of these changes I could do to my diet to reduce my acne. I was really excited before the reset was going to do all of those things for me. I have been struggling with my acne for years. It has only cleared up during chemotherapy (haha) and when I take anti-biotics which I hate doing. Here’s hoping!

What I love about the Reset is that it is a no-starvation, no laxative detox. I seriously wouldn’t be able to handle either! That has never sounded healthy to me.

Here is what I have been eating:

The first day I had this for breakfast. My BF was actually jealous! He said "that looks scrumptious" (It was!) So I made it for him the next day!

I just started Phase Two and this is what I had for dinner! Tasty and nutritious just how I like it!

This was one of my lunches... yeah I definitely wasn't hungry after!

Day 71 Chest and Back!

Right before my workout I realized that today was the first day of my last three weeks, which means this was the last time I had to do Chest and Back! What a great way to get motivated for my workout!
One of my friends said it was weird that I'm not smiling in any of my pictures because in real life I am always smiling. So, here I am smiling after Chest and Back.

This really helped me because I kind of struggled today. I woke up today and just realized that I have been focusing on all of the wrong stuff and it started to stress me out. So after school I just had to take time for myself to refocus on my goals and that really helped. Sometimes you just need to take time to focus on your goals and remind yourself why you are doing the things that you do!

So, now that I am almost done with p90x (less than three weeks!). I have started to think about what my next fitness adventures will be!
On May 8th I will be starting Brazil Butt Lift because, while I have seen positive changes in my thighs from p90x I know there is still room for improvement! And since my thighs are my problem area I need a program that solely focuses on that area.
On June 22nd I will be doing the Beachbody Ultimate Reset.

I would love to find accountability partners for these adventures, so if you are interested in finding out more information on how to join my challenge groups email me at ulyssesfitness@gmail.com

Product Spotlight: Beachbody Ultimate Reset!

The Beachbody Ultimate Reset is finally here!

I am really excited to do this myself, but since I am in the middle of p90x I can’t do it right now. I have some personal reasons why I plan to do the reset but I will present that information in a future post. For now here are the things that get me really excited about this cleanse:

What this cleanse is not:
A starvation diet. (You'll eat three filling, healthy meals every day.)
An abrupt cleanse that's hard on the body. (The supplements work together gradually to gently shift your body's internal settings.)*
•A laxative-based, colon-focused cleanse, which fails to truly detoxify the whole body. (You won't have to take three weeks off from work for a bathroom vacation!)

Just for fun here is a video from one (of the many) Beachbody Ultimate Reset Success Stories!

Why reset?:
Our environment has become more and more toxic. Our bodies absorb pollution and harmful chemicals all our lives, along with the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink. These toxins can get stored in our bodies, clogging our cells and slowing down their natural functions. It's not enough just to work out and eat right.

Benefits:
In just 21 days, the Ultimate Reset can help you gently restore your body to its original factory settings," to help you:
Have more energy and greater focus*
Experience better digestion and a more positive mood*
Enable your body to function more efficiently*
Lose weight*
Improve your overall health*

There is a bunch more information I could give you about this product, but I didn’t want to make this post too overwhelming! So if you would like more information you can click here:   Or email me at ulyssesfitness@gmail.com
